Tout a commencé lorsque j'ai été soumissionné pour créer une édition d'estampes pour une entreprise en développant un concept autour du mot "ESPOIR".Je travaillais à l'époque sur ma Série de la Faune” et j'ai décidé d'aborder l'idée d'intégrer un oiseau comme symbole de liberté. L'impressionnant Harfang des neiges convenait à merveille et au fur et à mesure que je poursuivais mes recherches, je suis tombé sur quelques histoires qui ont attirées mon attention davantage.
Le HARFANG DES NEIGES est l'emblème du Québec depuis 1987. Les Inuits l'appellent OOKPIK dans leur langue Inuktitut. Il y a un événement historique concernant une petite poupée à fourrure qui a changé la vie des résidents du Nunavik; vous pouvez lire à ce sujet en cliquant sur le lien ci-dessous.

J'ai commencé à faire des recherches sur la faune il y a de nombreuses années, par appréciation, et en recherchant des faits, j'ai découvert de nombreuses histoires, symboles et mythes passionnantes sur ces animaux fascinants. Même si diverses espèces abondent, plusieurs ont disparu et d'autres sont considérées comme en voie de disparition.
Je crois au pouvoir qu'une seule personne peut faire dans ce monde, peu importe l'ampleur de l'implication, nous pouvons tous faire une différence. J'ai décidé de sensibiliser la population à la richesse de notre faune canadienne en amorçant un corpus représentant la vitalité faunique que l'on retrouve à travers notre territoire.
Au début 2022, j'ai présenté mon Solo “RESPECT, Vie sauvage nordique,” représentant plus d'une douzaine d'espèces. L'approche avec mon sujet consistait à peindre l'animal, tel un portrait, dénonçant l'importance de leur présence dans ce monde. Ce sujet me touche de plus en plus et je sais que c'est un thème récurrent car je peins encore de nouvelles pièces dans mon atelier.
Plusieurs de nos forêts sont abattues à une vitesse phénoménale sans tenir compte des milieux humides et des territoires fauniques. Notre environnement naturel est le foyer de cette faune et doit être protégé.

It all started when I was commissioned to create an edition of prints for a corporation by developing a concept around the word “ESPOIR,” which means hope. I was working on my “Wildlife Series” at the time, and I decided to approach the idea of integrating a bird as a symbol of freedom. The magnificent snowy owl fitted perfectly, and as I pursued my research, I stumbled upon a couple of stories that cut my interest even more.
The snowy owl has been the avian emblem of Quebec since 1987. The Inuits call it OOKPIK in their language Inuktitut. There is a historical event about how a little furry doll changed the Nunavik residents' lives; you can read about it by clicking the link below.

I began researching wildlife many years ago by appreciation, and while researching facts, I discovered many exciting stories, symbolism, and myths about those fascinating animals. Even though diverse species are abounding, many have disappeared, and others are considered endangered.
I believe in the power of one’s impact in this world; no matter how little the implication, we can all make a difference. I decided to raise awareness about our rich Canadian wildlife by beginning a body of work representing the wildlife vitality found throughout our land.
At the beginning of 2022, I presented a Solo Art Exhibit entitled “RESPECT, Northern Wildlife,” representing over a dozen species. I approached the subject with the idea of having the animals pose as if they were getting their portrait painted, stating the importance of their presence in our world. This subject touches me more and more, and I know it's an ongoing theme because I am still painting new pieces in my studio.
Many of our forests are getting cut down at a phenomenal speed without considering the wetlands and wildlife territories. Our natural environment is the home of this wildlife and must be protected.
